Early Educator Wage Initiative
Child Care Network is implementing the Early Educator Wage Initiative to support licensed child care providers across Regions 6 and 9. Through this initiative, participating programs receive monthly stipends for early educators—helping strengthen wages, stabilize programs, and support access to quality child care for families.
The initiative began distributing stipend payments in January 2026 and will continue through August 2027.
About the initiative
Many child care providers face challenges retaining qualified staff because wages in early care and education remain significantly lower than in many other industries.
Through this initiative, participating programs receive monthly stipends that are distributed to eligible classroom educators, recognizing the critical role early educators play in children’s development and in supporting working families.
